La. Student Sent Home for Gay T-Shirt by Bigot Principal

March 24, 2011

Gay T Shirt

The school claimed they sent the student home because it was causing a ‘disruption’ however, the school had no documented case of any disruption to the student body or to a class room.  The first amendment is a powerful thing, and fortunately, it’s a right WE have, 2nd class citizens or not!

A Louisiana middle school student sent home by the principal for wearing a pro-equality T-shirt is receiving support from the American Civil Liberties Union. WWLTV reports on the developments at Desoto Parish Middle School, where principal Keith Simmons sent Dawn Henderson home after she refused to change a T-shirt that said, “Some kids are gay. That’s OK.”
