IL Republican Introduces Bigoted Legislation Against Citizens of Illinois
Shocking! Catholic Charities want the State of Illinois to allow them to remain bigots… but don’t cancel our contracts with the State! In a desperate attempt to hang on to public funds the Catholics have found an ally. Republican Kyle McCarter has introduced legislation which undermines the rights of Illinois citizens and makes a special case for the Catholic bigots.
Illinois State Senator Kyle McCarter (R-Lebanon) on Wednesday filed legislation that would amend the state’s civil union law to allow Catholic Charities to continue to license foster and adoptive parents without serving same-sex couples.
McCarter’s proposal, SB2495, would amend the Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act, signed into law in January, to allow faith-based agencies like Catholic Charities to decline to provide foster care and adoption services to applicants who “would constitute a violation of the organization’s sincerely held religious beliefs” and refer them to other agencies.

Catholic Priests Organize Against Modern Marriage in MN
The Catholic Church is throwing it’s weight around Minnesota as it did in California to block modern marriage in the state. Local Archbishop John Nienstedt has notified all the local priests to follow a pattern used in California– local church captains to take up the cause. Of course, the captains are being organized by the public policy arm of the church, in conjunction with the bigoted Minnesota for Marriage and the National Organization for Marriage- an SPLC identified hate group. The Catholics should be careful of the company they keep. Who needs a Satan when you have NOM…. Perhaps the Archbishop could borrow Catholic Priest Rev Alejandro Jose Castillo from California… to help organize the events. Oh that’s right, Castillo (a key Prop 8 supporter) is in jail for having sex with a 12 year old boy!
Archbishop John Nienstedt sent a letter to every priest in the state at the start of October urging them to put every Catholic church in Minnesota to work passing a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
“It is imperative that we marshal our resources to educate the faithful about the Church’s teachings on these matters, and to vigorously organize and support a grass roots effort to get out the vote to support the passage of the amendment,” the letter read. It went out on Oct. 4 to every priest in the state.
The archbishop said it wants priests in every parish to identify a “church captain” in order to create an “ad hoc committee” in every church in the state. The “church captain” is a component of the Schubert Flint strategy used in 2008′s divisive Proposition 8 battle in California.
…
the church captains will be organized by the Minnesota Catholic Conference, the public policy arm of the Catholic church, which will in turn report to the Minnesota for Marriage coalition for statewide efforts. Minnesota for Marriage is made up of the Minnesota Family Council, MCC and the National Organization for Marriage.

Human Rights Hate Groups Rally after Loss in NY
Opponents of the modern American family and civil rights are regrouping after being defeated in New York, which recently passed legislation allowing marriage for all citizens in their state. However, these bigoted hate groups are using their defeat to scare American’s into donating to their cause by publishing fact-less anti-gay claims, using pseudo-scientific data by disreputable ‘scientific’ studies and lying to American’s that their own marriages are threatened.
Less than 24 hours after the New York Senate’s vote, made possible by four Republican defections, a leading anti-same-sex-marriage group started sending out defiant pleas for money.
“This fight is far from over,” the [SPLC Hate Group] National Organization for Marriage told supporters as it pledged to spend $2 million in 2012 to defeat New York’s four “turncoat senators” who “betrayed marriage.”
The organization, which says it expects to raise $20 million this year from Roman Catholic and evangelical Christian groups as well as individual donors, is gearing up for intense battles over same-sex marriage in several other states. So far, voters in 29 states have adopted constitutional amendments banning it.
Since the vote, the Family Research Council [another SPLC Hate Group], one of the largest conservative Christian advocacy groups, started hearing from more followers who wanted to defend traditional marriage, and officials said they expected a jump in donations.
“More than ever before, people are seeing this as a national issue,” said Tom McClusky, senior vice president of the council.
via Same-sex marriage foes rally forces with N.Y. law.
Battles for human rights and the rights of modern American families continue to heat up in Maryland, New Hampshire, Maine, and Minnesota where anti-American hate groups plan to dump millions of dollars in media blitzes selling their lies to an unsuspecting public.

The Catholic League Blames Gays for Abuse Scandals
Catholic homophobe Bill Donohue tried to scapegoat both the Gay and Jewish communities for the behavior of Catholic clergy. Donohue blames gays for the clergy sexual abuse scandals. Someone needs to teach Donohue that homosexuality does NOT equal pedophilia. In addition, he pointed fingers at Orthodox Jews and the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests in that they were encouraging victimization and hatred of Catholicism.
Sorry Donohue, the Inquisitions used by the Catholic church to silence their enemies have long since gone.
It’s time that Catholicism denounce Papal infallibility and recognize that it’s time to clean house ask God and your communities for forgiveness (turn pedophiles over to local authorities across the globe) and get back to what you started 1800 years ago… preaching the word of Christ… not bastardizing it.
TWO Calls On The Catholic League’s Bill Donohue to Stop Blaming Gay People for Catholic Clergy Sexual Abuse Scandals
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Truth Wins Out today condemned The Catholic League’s Bill Donohue after he tried to scapegoat gay men for Catholic clergy sexual abuse scandals in a full-page New York Times ad. Donohue’s full-throated defense and attempt to blame others highlights Donohue’s role as chief apologist for the unthinkable crimes committed against young people at the hands of trusted clergy in the Catholic Church.
…
Aside from attacking the LGBT community, The Catholic League’s ad pointed fingers at the Orthodox Jewish Community and the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP). Indeed, Donohue had the nerve to write in the ad that SNAP was “a professional victims’ group” that “are dogmatic in their convictions; their hatred of the Catholic Church palpable.”

NOM Hires Mormon Pollsters Lawrence Research For Maryland Gay Marriage Poll
NOM recently hired Mormon Gary Lawrence and his Lawrence Research Group (used for Proposition 8 in California) to conduct another bigoted poll. Only this time it’s in Maryland. Once again it shows not only the close ties NOM has to the LDS Church, and how the LDS Church who paid Lawrence 172k during Prop 8 will stop at nothing to sway public opinion, even when it’s using biased data to further their cause.
By the way, if you’ve forgotten NOM has been put on the Hate Watch List by the SPLC for their anti-gay pseudo-science and fact twisting. This is nothing more than a reinforcement why they should be considered a hate group.
The National Organization for Marriage recently commissioned Lawrence Research to conduct a survey of opinions on gay marriage in Maryland.
NOM’s poll released Thursday found that 54 percent of self-identified registered voters oppose lawmakers’ plans to legalize the institution, and only 37 percent approve.
….
In 2008, Lawrence Research was heavily involved in the effort to get California’s gay marriage ban, Proposition 8, passed. According to records from the California Secretary of State, the Orange County-based firm received payments in excess of $528,800 from ProtectMarriage.com between July 30 and December 17, 2008 for polling and research. Moreover, company founder Gary Lawrence served as the grassroots director for the Yes on 8 campaign organized by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormons. The church’s members played a large financial and organizational role in getting Proposition 8 approved.

New British Rules a Step in the Right Direction
The British Government moves closer to full same-sex marriage. In their latest ruling, couples may now hold civil-unions inside of places of worship (with that religion’s consent). It doesn’t go far enough to provide equal rights under the law compared to marriage, but they continue to move closer!
In Britain, gay couples may get a chance to go to the chapel and get married — almost.
The British government on Thursday announced plans to allow gay couples to hold civil partnership ceremonies in houses of worship — a move gay rights activists say is a step in the right direction towards marriage, but falls short of affording full equal rights.
The government stressed, however, that houses of worship can opt out if they wish.
Although marriage and civil partnership are already similar under British law, civil partnership ceremonies are currently not allowed to have religious references, are banned from places of worship, and must take place in a public building overseen by a government registrar.
The new rules, being introduced under British equality laws, will give same-sex couples the chance to hold civil partnership ceremonies in religious buildings — an option that did not exist for Mark Harrison and his partner, who wore traditional tailcoats to their ceremony at a north London town hall in May 2009.

FOX News – Sports – Sports – Belmont changes policy after gay coach protest
Did the University actually decide to change its policies because of the protests or because one of it’s biggest sponsors said that it’s time for Christians to act like Christians?
A university that came under fire from students for the departure of a lesbian women’s soccer coach has added sexual orientation to its non-discrimination policy, but it was not clear whether it covered sexually active gays.
President Bob Fisher announced the policy approved by trustees, but wouldn’t answer questions Wednesday regarding ex-soccer coach Lisa Howe. The private university has said her departure on Dec. 2 was a mutual decision. But students and players protested, saying Howe was let go because she told them she was having a child with her same-sex partner.

Heretical Westboro Baptist Church Have Departed for Utah…
The Westboro Baptist Church, popularized by their shameless protests of fallen soldiers and their slogans “God Hates Fags” and “God Hates America” are
The WBC has planned their visit to protest Grand Jury Prize, Red State Screening at the Sundance Film Festival and West High School in Salt Lake City. Making the most out of their trip, they’re planning to visit the Jews (Congregation Kol Ami), the Catholics (St. Mark’s Cathedral) and in the spirit of inclusion and diversity, the Mormons (Salt Lake LDS Temple). I understand that some of these events are local in nature and would absolutely require actual attendance. However, I’m a bit confused they’re visiting the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake.
Though not a Mormon myself, if Fred and family would like to understand more about the LDS faith, they don’t need to come all the way to Deseret; The Mormon’s are happy to come to you! You can reduce your carbon footprint and just request a visit online and the LDS Church is happy to send messengers- Request a Visit from a Missionary.
According to Megan Phelps-Roper (via Twitter), The Westboro Baptist Church and their family of followers have packed their bags and are headed to Utah.
Oh, and they’re sending a message:
As much as I appreciate the ‘obey’ message (I do occasionally have a kinky-side) it’s really not my thing. I can’t speak for the groups you’re coming to protest, but I can speak for those of us here at Release Dorothy! We welcome your visit!
Spewing lies and harboring hate can be exhausting. While here please be sure to spend as much money as you can (the local economy could use the uplift) doing the following:
- Visit our Tourist sites (There’s always something to see in Utah)
- Dine at our fantastic restaurants (email us if you need recommendations)
- Visit a Gift Shop (It’s not every day you can get a shot glass with a beehive stamped on it)
- Spend a day skiing on the ‘Greatest Snow on Earth’ (You’re already going to visit Park City so why not?)
- Shop at a plethora of indoor and outdoor malls. We offer upscale shopping as well as outlet shopping. (Something for Everyone!)
Last but not least, you can’t leave without spending a few hours at “This is the Place” State Park. There you’ll be able to visit a Pioneer Village and gain a better understanding of the trials and tribulations the Mormon settlers endured in their attempt to escape the hate and bigotry you’ve come to bestow on them again, as well as anyone else who doesn’t subscribe to your lies!
Oh, and one last thing.. Utah is VERY close to Wendover, NV where gambling is legal… if you have a chance, take a scenic drive west of SLC and go have a pull of the slot machines… Perhaps you’ll get lucky and win! I’m sure gambling isn’t typically the WBC’s style, but I figure if you’re going to go to Hell anyway, why not try to do it in style!
Love you.. Mean it!
Gay-Marriage Debate Takes Center Stage in Rhode Island
The state of Rhode Island is already shaping up to be the hot-spot for the equal marriage battle this year. The Governor and legislature are already moving forward with legislation but Mormon NOM as well as the Catholic church are digging deep into their pockets and pulling out cash and rhetoric in hopes they can continue to deny LGBT equal rights. What you have to keep your eye on is how the Mormon/Catholic sponsored NOM team does their deed. They change the story whenever possible. They will attack the lawmakers, the governor, anyone or anything they can to take the public’s eye off the real ball. Rather than debating the rights of a large LGBT minority group, they’ll attack the governor’s campaign. Take a look at their commercial.
As this debate continues, you’ll hear the right-wing hate groups talk about how they’re not homophobes and have no issue with gays they’re simply representing traditional marriage. I have two issues with this. First, the hate groups are merely softening their rhetoric to appear more mainstream. They do have issues with Gays, just spend some time on youtube and you’ll find FRC suggesting gays should be exported from America. Second, there’s no such thing as “TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE”. They’ll claim it’s between a man and a woman and that’s what the Bible tells them. That’s true. However, marriage in and of itself is NOT a biblical invention. Marriage predates the Bible, the Quoran and many other religious texts. As much as these groups would like to think, technically the United States is not a Judeo-Christian nation. There is nothing in our government defining us in any one religious context and we’re a nation made up of many people and beliefs. In fact, the arguement could just as easily be made that the native culture of this land didn’t define sexuality in tems of two sexs and in many native american cultures two-spirits and men often married or men who lost their first wife would take a ‘two-spirit’ wife after their loss. So it’s just as easy to state that ‘traditional marriage’ is clearly in the eye of the beholder. The tradition of the land is far different than the tradition brought over by Western European immigrants who’s traditions (including genocide) are substantially different than native culture.
PROVIDENCE — The two sides in the same-sex marriage debate went into battle mode on Tuesday.
Opponents launched a $100,000 TV ad campaign that belittles new Governor Chafee as a governor-without-mandate who got “fewer votes than the Cool Moose Party.”
Later the same day, proponents headed to the State House to deliver “over 13,000” postcards supporting same-sex marriage to lawmakers as they arrived for Tuesday’s House and Senate sessions. There, they got conflicting yes-no messages from legislative doormen and others on whether they could personally hand the packets of postcards to the lawmakers, as advocates for other causes do daily with their own fliers.
And this is just the beginning of an annual battle that has intensified this year with the election of a new governor and an openly gay House speaker who, unlike their predecessors, support the years-long drive to legalize “civil marriage” in Rhode Island for same-gender couples, without forcing religious institutions to perform a ceremony that goes against their beliefs.
The local chapter of the National Organization for Marriage provided a preview of its first ad on Monday night, along with a statement reminding legislators of the fate that befell same-sex marriage supporters in other states…
Here’s NOM’s latest propaganda being broadcast to the citizens of Rhode Island.

Boston Archdiocese: Non-discrimination Admissions Policy for Gay Parents
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston has released a new non-discrimination policy for its schools, which allows for gay and lesbian parents to send their children to Catholic schools.
The new policy will obliges that all Catholic schools in the archdiocese will not “discriminate against or exclude any categories of students,” including those with gay and lesbian parents.
The policy also says: “Parent(s)/guardian(s) of students in Catholic schools must accept and understand that the teachings of the Catholic Church are an essential and required part of the curriculum.”
The new guidelines were developed in response to a widely publicized incident last year in which St. Paul School in Hingham. Mass rescinded the admissions offer to the 8-year-old boy after it was discovered he was the child of a lesbian couple, saying the parents’ relationship was in discord with church teachings and the boy would be confused by the school’s conflicting views on family.

In a statement, Tobin said gay marriage was “morally wrong” and it was disturbing that Chafee had made such a divisive issue one of his first priorities, instead of economic concerns.
A Chafee adviser said allowing gay couples to marry was an economic issue because it could attract top talent to the state — especially gay and lesbian professionals.
